The Flow Model
Are you chasing that #flow state?
Trying to get 'in the zone'?
That mindset you fall into when you're completely absorbed in the task your doing - it's doable but just challenging enough to keep you engaged.
The formula for flow state is simple:
When skill level equals the challenge level, that's FLOW.
Shout out to Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi who's coined the term 'flow state', and considered the pioneers of #postivepsychology.
These nudenotes were inspired by a random infographic I came across on Pinterest, couldn't find the original creator.
He once said:
"The best moments in our lives are not the passive, receptive, relaxing times... The best moments usually occur if a person’s body or mind is stretched to its limits in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile."
Doesn't that sound dreamy!
Flow state is a virually universal thing for humans, we've all experienced it, right?
It feel's like we're constantly chasing in our lives.
Being in a flow state is one of the most enjoyable mindsets you can achieve. Now we know what we're chasing we can start to deconstruct how to get there more often.
For me, I like to use lo-fi music in headphones, put away my phone, turn off notifications. I have a few go-to playlists that helped me achieved hours of flow state work.
