...question your pricing.
...try to change your process or skip steps.
...have 53 rounds of design changes.
...demand unreasonable timelines.
...have a meeting about your work without you in it.
...fight with you over extra charges.

The building TRUST checklist:

▪️ Speak with confidence and listen when they talk

▪️ Meet with them face to face, or video

▪️ Walk them through your process

▪️ Show them results of your past work

▪️ Use formal proposals and signed contracts

▪️ Have organized kickoff meetings for projects

▪️ Use a project management app and invite them in

▪️ Manage expectations, “Here’s what comes next.”

▪️ Let them meet other people on your team

▪️ Talk about what they really want.
