Encouraging Motivation to Change: Am I Doing This Right? from centreforebo.case.edu

These 11 questions are used to build self-awareness about your attitudes, thoughts, and communication style as you conduct your work. There’s some deep stuff here, with interesting mindset changes, which can be used to keep your attention focused on the people you serve. For us designers, that’s either the client or the user - sometimes, I think we lose sight of that in the fog of the design hustle.

Feature on The Futur’s Instagram Feed

This week, I had a message from the amazing team at The Futur, who asked if they could feature my nudenotes on their IG feed. Since they’re one of my favourite sources of inspiration in my design work, I jumped at the chance!

I love The Futur's honesty when talking about the design process, and the business twist to each topic. They tend to take things that are usually interpreted as subjective, and make them objective. And their collective mindset about being a happier creative in the crazy business we call design means that they have so many useful resources, hints, tips and nuggets of wisdom to keep us motivated. If you’re in the creative industry, and you haven’t heard of The Futur, you’re missing out! Head over to their YouTube channel to see why I love them.

It’s been amazing to see the response to my nudenotes, I’m super-excited to share them with new people throughout the internet. Huge thanks again to the Futur Fam!

This week's #booknotes , part 7 of my notes on Creative Strategy and the Business of Design by @dquejuan - more from What They Say Versus What We Hear

Or what they say versus what they need. Techniques on aligning business and creative goals, towards building long lasting design solutions. Gaining clarity on goals is a must for any creative project, how can you aim for something without knowing your destination? This book is such a great resource for my nudenotes - I’m on part 7, and I’ve still got loads to get through!

I am a ESTJ Personality from 16personalities.com

Based on the famous Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator. I am a proud ESTJ: "The Executive”, just like Frank Sinatra, Robb Stark, Dwight Schrute and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

It’s scary how accurate this is from just a 5-minute online quiz. It’s great to understand my personality nuances, so I can better develop my strengths, understand my weaknesses and lead a happier creative (and personal) life. My colleagues and I have had great fun discussing all of our personality traits, and comparing which celebs we’re supposedly similar to!

I hope this inspires you to discover your personality type, and see if it helps you to become a happier, more successful version of you. Comment below which personality type you end up with, and whether you think it’s accurate.
